What is YASS?

​

  Youth Art Saturday School is a partnership between Old Dominion University Art Education preservice teachers, The Chrysler Museum of Art, The Hermitage Museum and Gardens, and The Virginia MOCA!​ YASS classes explore various media including painting, digital media, ceramics, drawing, fibers, and more. Classes draw connections between works at each museum, permanent collections, big ideas and socially relevant concepts that relate to the young people of today. Age groups and registration requirements for this year's YASS are listed here.

YASS 2024 is pleased to announce its 3 weekend, in-person classes for children and youth! The program, led by Art Education seniors, will explore the big ideas of sustainability, personal growth, and identity through a focused investigation of the arts.

Registration is $18.00 

Scholarships are available.
